For the love of cake is a registered, inspected and insured food business, with a 5* Food Hygiene rating, in the City of Peterborough. 

Please take time to read these terms and conditions fully, on receipt of your deposit it is deemed that you have read and accepted these terms and conditions.

Orders

All order requests are to be made via email or direct message on social media. This provides both parties an exact record of what was discussed with regards to requirements and quotes etc. 

All orders are subject to our terms and conditions. 

Orders are not confirmed or in our diary until we have received your deposit, sent a confirmation message/email and arranged a collection appointment. 

Deposits

In order to secure your cake order we require a 50% balance deposit. If your collection date is within 7 days of ordering we require the full balance to be paid. 

Once paid, deposits/payments are non refundable and non transferable, unless otherwise agreed, or subject to these terms and conditions. 

Please note no order request can be confirmed without a deposit and the requested date will be available for others to book. 

Final Payment

Your final balance is due 7 days before your collection date. If payment is not made by this date your order may be cancelled and your deposit forfeited.

Refunds, Cancellations and Complaints.

 All deposits (and full balance payments for collections within 7 days of ordering) are non-refundable and non transferable under any circumstances, unless otherwise agreed, or subject to these terms and conditions. 

In the event of a cancellation, your deposit will be forfeited and will be retained by For the love of cake. 

We reserve the right to cancel any order where circumstances are beyond our control, such as a natural disaster, extreme weather or where it is not safe to prepare your order. 

In the event you cancel your order after paying your final balance, please be aware no refund will be given. 

We are not liable for any refunds due to catastrophic events beyond our control i.e natural disaster, Acts of God, Pandemic etc. In any of these incidences, all monies paid would be transferred to a new date or a refund (less incurred costs) if we are unable to reschedule.

Refunds regarding a cake design or the quality of a cake are completely at the discretion of For the love of cake and are not automatic. Full refunds will not be given for any cake, which has been consumed, regardless of the dispute, as consumption of the cake is viewed as acceptance that the cake is adequate for the purpose for which it has been supplied. 

We are not liable for any damage to your order or celebration cake once it has left the premises. You (or the person nominated for collection) are responsible for viewing the order and accepting it before leaving the premises, if you have any concerns, please notify us before leaving the premises. 

All other concerns should be made in writing, with photographic evidence of the fault. Refunds will only be issued if the cake/order is returned to us in its original condition and packaging and we agree it is unsuitable for consumption.

Collections 

Collections are by appointment only, from our home bakery studio in Stanground, Peterborough.

Cake care and transport advice is provided and labelled on celebration cake orders. Please follow this advice and ensure your vehicle is suitable for transporting your order. Cakes, cupcakes and bakes can be fragile so driving carefully is essential.

We are not liable for any damage to your order once it has left our premises. 

Please collect your order at the agreed time, if you miss your collection appointment we will contact you to reschedule, subject to availability. In the event you do not collect your order, respond to contact, or are not able to reschedule within the shelf life of your order we reserve the right to cancel the order and no refunds will be given. 

Design Changes

We cannot accept change requests for set menu designs or seasonal menus. 

If you need to make any design changes to your order please let us know at the earliest opportunity, We will accommodate design alterations where possible, however your request may be declined according to the notice given and supplies needed to complete the change. 

Any changes that affect the cost or if preparation for the original design has already started, then your balance will be adjusted accordingly. We will advise you of any price changes before confirming design changes. 

We reserve the right to change the design at any point if circumstances are beyond our control and/or if the overall quality of the cake may be compromised. Each cake, cupcake and bake is handmade and hand decorated to order, every effort is made to ensure consistency, however some variation may occur. 

Design Rights

The specification, and design of all our cakes, cupcakes and bakes shall remain at all times, unless otherwise agreed, the property of For the love of cake. 

Please note we do not accept orders requesting us to copy/ replicate other bakers designs. We can use inspiration photos as a visual guide and incorporate the elements you like into an original design. Please, wherever possible,credit the cake maker/designer of any inspiration photos you send to us. 

Allergens and Dietary Requirements

Allergen information is provided for all order requests before an order is placed or confirmed, it is also displayed on the packaging of your order for reference, which we will bring to your attention upon collection.

Please inform us and discuss any food allergies before placing an order. 

All of our bakes are suitable for Vegans and prepared in a Vegan kitchen, which handles the following allergens: 

Cereals containing GLUTEN

SOYA

SULPHITES

We provide allergen information for your order before confirmation, it will also be labelled on your cake order. 

Whilst our bakes are all suitable for Vegans, they may not be suitable for all allergy sufferers. 

We include any precautionary allergen information (may contain traces of) from externally manufactured ingredients in our allergen information. 

Non Edible Decorations 

Some of our cakes may contain inedible items such as toppers and decorations. We will advise you of any inedible decorations and provide labelling on celebration cake order. It is your responsibility to ensure these are removed before the cake is cut and consumed. 

Fresh Flowers 

If you would like fresh flowers to decorate your order, then these will either need to be provided by a professional florist sourced by you. 

Please ensure they know that you intend to use the flowers on a cake that will be eaten as the flowers will need to be organic and safe for food contact.

The flowers will need to be individually wired and taped, or arranged in a posy. Flowers will need to be removed before cutting and consuming the cake.

Shelf Life and Storage 

Please note all of our bakes are made to order to ensure it is as fresh as possible for your event. 

We cannot guarantee it’s quality if consumed more than 3 days after collection. Please refer to the best before dates provided on the packaging. Please store orders out of direct sunlight at room temperature (unless otherwise advised). Once cut, celebration cakes should be consumed within 3 days. Some toppings, (such as biscuits) are added to your order just before collection, they may soften over time so we would advise to arrange collection for the date of your event.
